Domaine Jacourette is a family owned winery located in Pourrières, a small medieval village 20 minutes from Aix-en-Provence, at the foot of the Sainte-Victoire mountain, a sub-appellation of Provence.
The winery has been managed by the Dragon family for four generations,
Considered one of the most natural terroirs of France, the vineyard of Sainte Victoire benefits from a climate with very slightly continental shades, sheltered from maritime influences. Constantly swept by the mistral, the vine also enjoys the benefits of this dry and regular wind, which keeps attacks of parasites away. A poor soil and very filtering soils give high quality wines. On these limestone and clay soils, the most representative grape varieties are Syrah, Grenache and Cinsaut , accompanied by Cabernet Sauvignon and Carignan. The white wines come from Vermentino , also known as Rolle.
The winery has been managed by the Dragon family for four generations, with daughter Helen Dragon appointed as the estate’s winemaker in 1997. She was joined by her husband, Frederick Arnaud in 2004 and the couple works tirelessly to create wines expressive of their Provencal origin.
