HISTORY

Noble Tree was originally founded as a passion project by two sommeliers/restaurateurs to produce wines for their fellow industry friends. Production began as a true “garagistes-négociant” style winery, focusing on healthy vineyard sources, hand-harvesting and honest winemaking practices. Noble Tree grew into a sommelier “by-the-glass” favorite and was named “Value Brand of the Year” by Wine Enthusiast in 2017.

TERROIR

The Sonoma County AVA encompasses incredibly diverse microclimates marked by warm days and cool nights created by mountain inversion layers and coastal winds, which balance the growing season. Noble Tree looks to capture varietal character while reflecting the individual vineyard’s terroir.

The Wickersham Ranch Vineyard is located in northwest Sonoma County in Healdsburg, CA. At an elevation of 2,200 feet, the vineyard is planted on a western-facing slope, offering the ideal microclimate to cultivate Bordeaux varieties with mountain fruit characteristics, while lending warmth to physiological growth to avoid underripe flavors.

The Chalk Hill – Russian River Valley AVA vineyard is located within the heart of Sonoma County near the town of Windsor, CA. The vineyard has a north-to-south orientation and is home to over 17 acres of old-vine Chardonnay (planted in 1976) and five acres of old-vine Noble Tree Zinfandel (planted in 1885).

PEOPLE

Marc D. Taub, owner of Taub Family Vineyards, recognized the potential of these extraordinary Sonoma County-based wines early on. In 2019, the Taub family became proprietors of Noble Tree, vowing to uphold the mission and essence of the its winemaking philosophy: to respect the varietal character and reflect the vineyard site and vintage conditions in each wine.
