Le Arenarie Sauvignon Blanc, Alghero DOC
Sella & Mosca
100% Sauvignon Blanc
A jewel in the Mediterranean, Sardinia is a rustic and enchantingly beautiful island with extreme geography and vinous diversity to tempt travelers and wine enthusiasts alike. Mr. Sella and Mr. Mosca fell in love with this land over a century ago and established Sella & Mosca, one of Italy's most renowned wine estates. As Sardinia's foremost wine producer, Sella & Mosca’s premium wines are made exclusively from estate-grown grapes. In addition to native varieties such as Vermentino, Torbato and Cannonau, the winery has successfully pioneered the introduction of international grape varieties, notably Cabernet Sauvignon.TERROIR & VINTAGE NOTES
In the Leveche quadrant of the Sella & Mosca vineyards, the warm soils formed by the erosion of ancient layers of sandstone (in Italian “arenaria”) are the home of the Sauvignon Blanc, extolling the specific characteristics that have made it famous. This is the origin of Le Arenarie, the Sauvignon by Sella & Mosca. Average age of vines is 8 years.
Soft pressing, cold settling, fermentation at a controlled temperature of 18°C in stainless steel. The wine is then aged for 3-4 months in stainless steel.TASTING NOTES
Generous and well-sustained, recalling the exceptional personality of the vine and its unique aromatic load. A compact and varied bouquet where red pepper and wild fennel are blended with sweeter and more. With backbone, it stands out for its tanginess and for its long and persistent reminiscence of sweet pepper, obtained by the island’s particular climate.
